What made you decide you wanted to start therapy? Or perhaps you're still unsure if it's the right time for you.
People begin for a whole plethora of reasons, but one thing that many clients have in common is that they want something to change.
Change begins with awareness. Awareness of what you're feeling, of your attachment, of your past, of your relationships, of your physical responses, of your triggers. Awareness is layered, but having it is key to understanding yourself, and understanding yourself is the first step towards acceptance.
I work with clients to help them get to know themselves. We do this by working in relationship with one another. As a counsellor, I'm there to sit with a client, to listen without judgement, and with gentle curiosity and challenge, help them to understand their thoughts and feelings; to understand who they are, and how they relate to others and the world around them. These are the first steps towards positive change.
